Tony as the Test Automation Expert

Tony has over 15 years of experience in test automation. He spent many years with HP Quality Center and QuickTest Professional. He worked with Toad and Oracle and he programmed in SQL and VBScript (QTP) for more than ten years. In many projects he programmed QTP to tackle the GUI, say, for an online retailer that specializes in custom-image VISA gift cards. In other projects he programmed SQL to interrogate Oracle-based application systems such as RMS, SAP and Siebel. He also programmed in C, VB, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and worked with ASP.NET. He worked with Microsoft technologies and felt at ease with UNIX technologies. As an after-hours startup junkie, he possesses small-scale IT infrastructure on the cloud (Amazon EC2) and owns an offshore team of fulltime developers with experience in C#, WCF, LINQ, TELERIK, SQL Server, and LLBLGEN Pro to create software as a service (SAAS) for the future. With excellent communication skills he worked with customers across business and technology domains. He created test metrics and carried out all types of formal testing: functional verification, system testing, vendor integration, regression and UAT. He worked as QA Lead, QA Manager and QA Analyst for transaction processors like Cybersource.com and FSVPaymentSystems.com, for retail giants like Blockbusters and Rent-A-Center, and for blue chip companies like EDS, HP and IBM. Beyond his B. S. degree in Mathematics and Computing from the University of Texas at Arlington, he attended various software engineering and other corporate training programs from these blue chip companies. He managed manual testers and test planners for multi-tiered web application systems. He participated in Daily Scrum and Extreme Programming processes as part of a large-scale systems development life cycle (SDLC) and provided technical leadership for geographically dispersed organizations. He has the ability to correlate solutions from other languages and platforms and knows how to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Tony as the Startup Junkie

Tony Minh Duy works both as a Software Development Outsourcing Manager and as a QA Analyst. He goes by Tony at work in North Texas and he goes by Minh Duy in dealing the velgie, his offshore workers in Vietnam.

What's up with Tony?

The term velgie was in fact coined by Tony and it refers to a software developer in Vietnam who works mostly in English but speaks mostly in Vietnamese. This is interesting to software makers in the United States because the velgie in general are half as expensive as their counterparts in India. This is the basic premise for VietnamQA, whose slogan is Offshore help with Local representation.
